About the artist
Lauri Panopoulos is a freelance visual artist living in Southern California. Born in New York City. She received a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from Syracuse University and a Master of Fine Arts Degree from The New York Academy of Art.
Lauri began her career as an illustrator in New York City. Some of her past notable clients include: Jim Henson Associates, AT&T, HBO, Ziff Davis Publishing Co., BBDO NYC, Ralph Lauren Polo, The National Barbie Convention, Fashion Doll Quarterly and B. Shackman and Co. who published several of her fashion and paper doll products.
In 2002 she began studying traditional figurative sculpture at the Art Students League of New York City, the New York Academy of Design School and the New York Academy of Art with the intention of gaining a more comprehensive understanding of 3-dimensionality and form. She studied with many notable sculptors including Anthony Antonios, Richard Macdonald, Harvey Citron, Nina Levy, Leonid Lerman, Jonathan Shahn, Cynthia Eardley, Barney Hodes and Rhoda Sherbell.
In 2015 Lauri relocated to Silicon Valley and became deeply inspired by technology incorporating those themes into her work. She currently lives in the coastal city of Huntington Beach in Orange County California, with her husband, cats, hydroponic gardens and art supplies.
